Frankfurt is situated on both sides of the River Main, in the South West of Germany.  The southern part of the city contains the Frankfurt City Forest, this is the largest forest in Germany contained within a city.  Frankfurt is the financial capital of Germany and also the European Union, with its airport handling the largest number of passengers on the European continent.

Frankfurt was severly bombed during World War II, but happily it recovered quickly and during it's development one of Europes most efficient underground transport systems was born.  Frankfurt is also the home of the tallest skyscraper in the European Union "The Comerzbank Tower".  The City is not only a business centre but also a cultural centre with a vast array of theatres, galleries and museums.  Some popular attractions worth a visit are "The Dom" (the church of St Bartholomew) and the Museum of Modern Art.

Frankfurt Zoo also proves to be a great day out for the whole family.  Spring is a great time in the city with the colourful festival of Fruhlings Dipperness and also the Fine Art Fair taking place.  In Frankfurt you will enjoy a mild climate with frequent rain.  Summers can be warm, with winters being cloudy and cold.
